Weekend Warrior: Exploring Ancient Villages in the Suburbs of Beijing | the Beijinger: In addition to busy streets and high-rises, Beijing is also home to a number of ancient villages. Providing refreshing respites from the hustle of city life, these villages also allow visitors to enjoy the beautiful natural landscape of the Beijing area, and get a taste of local folk culture. We list four villages worth visiting, all located in Mentougou district.
My first visit to Beijing, China, was 15th of April to 15th of May 2007. Beijing is in my heart forever since then. Our 3 room apartment is in the Minan Residential Complex at Dongzhimen Nei Dajie, Dong Cheng District, Beijing. Local street is Dong Yang Wei Jie. Close to Gui Jie food street & the subway station Dongzhimen, busses, bicycling or walking to see all of central Beijings interesting sights. I´ve been to Beijing also in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014. Who could ask for more?
